Happy Virgo Full Moon!

We are a little over halfway through the Pisces season with this full moon hitting the 19-degree mark on the Virgo/Pisces axis. Anyone with planets or points at 19 degrees around the zodiac, particularly Pisces, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Gemini, will be feeling this full moon most. AND, we also have Mercury in Aquarius stationing direct today (YAY) at 28 degrees, so anyone with points or planets at this degree, and especially Fixed signs of Aquarius, Scorpio, Taurus, and Leo, will be feeling this energy most.

We still have 4 planets in Capricorn, which is nicely complimenting the grounded energy that Virgo brings. However, it seems that this full moon, all the planets, are strongly aspecting at least one other planet. And with Mercury standing still in the sky, the Full Moon and Sun tightly aspecting Neptune by one degree, it may be slightly challenging to feel focused or grounded at all.

With Full Moons, we are working with a Sun/Moon opposition. Oppositions mean duality, opposing values, habits, perspectives, and needs. Oppositions help us recognize the delicate balance that's needed in our lives and in our relationships in particular. They show us where we are lacking as well as what our strengths are. Often we either need to negotiate, compromise, find a happy balance, and occasionally this energy calls for separation or an ending of a relationship or situation if balance isn't achieved.

With the Virgo/Pisces axis, we are looking at order vs. chaos, perfection vs. absent-mindedness, details vs. bigger picture. These two achieve balance when they can pull from the creative inspiration that Pisces offer, and allow it to be molded and made manifest by the focus and organization that Virgo delivers.

Virgo represents our day to day work, healthy habits, our ideas of perfection, our need to organize certain aspects of our life, and the anxiety that's generated when we don't live up to these internal standards. This anxiety stems from their own self-judgment and self-criticism and leaves them feeling insecure and unworthy. With Virgo, we have to continually watch out for our internal dialogue and keep our inner critic in check.

Of course, all this judgment and criticism can externalize itself. Virgos can get a reputation for being demanding and overbearing. These are all themes we need to look out for during this full moon as we navigate the tricky unconscious waters of Pisces, where our actions and intentions aren't always clear, even to ourselves. And with four planets in Capricorn, the tendency to be extra critical, and maybe even condescending, might add insult to injury. Anxiety, guilt, frustrations can all seep into our experience as we try to mitigate harmful behaviors that stem from a need for control. If you find yourself under the Virgo spell of perfectionism, take a step back and breathe. Take some time for yourself and relax into the Pisces space of allowing things to unfold, and go with the flow instead of resisting the current.

These are mostly the shadow sides of Virgo, we can look forward to having an increased awareness and desire to take care of ourself, create new healthy habits, and focus on our work. Now's the time to start mediation and/or exercise practice, read some inspirational books, clean up our diet, and do things that made us feel grounded, motivated, and proud of ourselves. We can take our Piscean dreams, creativity, and inspiration, and use this Virgo energy to bring it all into form. With so much focus on Capricorn, we may also be thinking about new ways to keep our work inspiring. Increased recognition or success could come during this time, but you may also be feeling frustrated if your efforts are going unnoticed. Another Virgo theme. Often Virgo is the hard-worker that is overlooked for the effort he puts in. This can create resentment and frustration.

This New Moon will be in strong aspect to Jupiter, Mars, and Pluto in Capricorn, which ignites a strong need for recognition in your work and family life. This is a great time to get really clear about how you want to be seen in the world, what you want to contribute, and the steps needed to make that manifest. Mars, Pluto, and Jupiter are powerhouses and will open up opportunities, give you motivation, and unearth the darkness that stands in the way of reaching your success. As Mercury picks up speed, and we head from a Full to New Moon, begin setting intentions of what you want the New Moon in Aries to bring. The beginning of spring is just around the corner, and we are getting ready to redefine and re-identify ourselves in a new and more authentic way.

So while the Virgo themes will no doubt be strong during this Full Moon, We have some other planets in strong aspects to each other. Venus and Uranus are in tight conjunction in Taurus. Venus is in her home sign, and she is strong and confident here, but in conjunction with Uranus, the duo brings us something unexpected. It could be in the way of resources, finances, or romance, and might recognize our values, and how we value ourselves. Remember that Mercury is stationing today, and that creates more confusion and possibility for misunderstandings. However, new information that was previously hidden during the retrograde may surface, and force us to take a breath before we act or make any permanent decisions.

Another strong influence occurring now is Chiron in Aries Square, the Nodes in Capricorn/Cancer. Back during the Pisces New Moon, Mars was in strong aspect to the Nodes, asking us to review past actions and get some clarity on the next steps forward. Now with Chiron in aspect to the Nodes, we may again be revisiting some painful experience as it relates to our home/career lives. Chiron represents the wound in us that never entirely disappears, only lessens as cycle through healings with it. This is a healing cycle; this is strongly felt as the two form a square and bring some forced evolution and change into our lives. We are standing between the past and the future. We have the choice to move forward and heal another layer of the wound.

This Full Moon theme is about reclaiming a part of ourselves that was lost in the Piscean abyss. This part brings us more confidence, clarity, and focus as we move towards our new identity. However, don't expect all this to come quickly. With the Sun still in Pisces and most importantly, with Mercury stationing on the day of the Full Moon, we can expect the clarity, focus, and inspiration to trickle in slowly but steadily. With a jam-packed Capricorn, work, patience, and perseverance are the overarching themes.
