Happy Aries New Moon!!

Aries signifies the time for spring, birth, newness, and independence! With all the intensity these last couple months with COVID-19 and the threat of illness, Aries is a warm welcome from the Pisces confusion, anxiety and grief. Aries will remind us that we are strong, resilient, and ready to face what’s in front of us. And we are finally on the other side of Mercury retrograde but not completely out of the shadow period yet. Mercury Retrograde in Pisces created potentially more stress and less clarity but allowed us to sit with an important vision and reflect on its practicality and what practical steps we could take towards manifesting it.

This New Moon will help us gain momentum, but it’s also experiencing some tough aspects with Chiron and the Nodes. The New Moon is occurring at 4 Degrees Aries and will affect those with planets or points at the 4 degree mark in the Cardinal signs of Capricorn, Libra, Cancer, and, of course, Aries. There’s another set of degrees in the Cardinal signs that’s being activated now by Mars, Pluto, and Jupiter. These three planets are sitting between 23-25 degrees in Capricorn, so anyone with planets or points between these degrees in the Cardinal signs will also be feeling strong evolutionary changes over the next week, which I’ll explain more about later.

Aries is the Warrior of the sign, ready to take on seemingly impossible tasks, and face situations and obstacles that would make the rest of us cringe at. Aries is independent, courageous, bold, and energetic. He has laser sharp focus and moves easily forward towards the goals he sets for himself.

Aries is the first sign of the zodiac ruled by Fire, and considered the baby of the zodiac. Following Pisces, where we connect to the divine, and return to the source that we were born from, Aries initiates our rebirth and transition from the non-physical plane to the physical plane. We see life with new eyes and a sense of curiosity and adventure. Aries takes charge and moves fearless forward into the unknown. They easily initiate plans, projects and conversations, and bring an abundance of energy to everything and everyone they engage with.

Amongst all his positive energetic traits, like all signs, Aries also embodies a shadow side. Aries is passionate and focused but sometimes this passion gets twisted into impulsivity, aggression, and at the most extreme level, violence. The Warrior archetype brings with it an anger that is rooted in basic selfishness when needs aren’t acknowledged or met.

Like an impulsive child, Aries wants what he wants and he typically wants it now. Impatience and a lack of being able to see other’s perspectives plagues Aries relationships, but growth and maturity can sometimes lessen Aries’ narrow mindedness. These are all qualities that we need to be aware of within ourselves during the Aries season. The best way to harness this energy is to focus on what is igniting and inspiring you and make some clear plans to achieve it.

This New Moon is wrapped up in some strong aspects including a Conjunction to Chiron, and a Square to the Nodes in Cancer and Capricorn. Aries is associated with our physical body and how we project ourself to the world. WIth Chiron involved, we may be having some challenges with our identity, feeling insecure and unsure about our direction for a moment. Our physical body may be taking the brunt of the stress, or we may feel that our body is letting us down in some way.

With the New Moon squaring the Nodes in Cancer and Capricorn, we are holding both our past and the future in our hands. Our mission now is to get clear on our vision for the future and decide what we are bringing with us from the past to the future. The balance now is between home and family, and career and status.

The ruler of the New Moon, Mars, is an active player in this process, with a conjunction to Pluto and Jupiter in Capricorn. This dynamic trio is amplifying any frustrations or anger that we’ve been keeping a lid on. Mars is actually strong yet tempered in Capricorn, so if there’s anger to be expressed, you may find that it’s more of like smoldering coals running deep within, rather than an impulsive, fiery explosion that comes and goes quickly.

This Capricorn trinity will also motivate us to make changes, take on greater responsibility, and encourage us to explore what success means for us in our life. This trio will also be in Trine to Venus in Taurus, affecting our finances, relationships, resources, and asking us to get clear on what our core values are.

If we’ve been moving in the right trajectory, we will see growth and expansion more than struggle and limitation, though those may be sprinkled into our experience as well. If we've been traveling down a path that’s not fully feeding us, we will need, and probably be forced, to course correct through some uncomfortable circumstances.

Alongside this may come to a ruthlessness to succeed at any cost. Be aware of those that may have only their best interests in mind, and be mindful that you are aren’t pushing out important allies on your way to gain status and success.

Another big shift in the collective field is Saturn moving out of his home sign of Capricorn and into Aquarius. This transition occurred on March 22 and continues until July 1st when Saturn will retrograde back into Capricorn. Saturn will finally complete his journey in Capricorn and officially move into Aquarius on December 16th. Capricorn’s and Cardinal signs can take a breath, and Aquarius and Fixed signs will be the next to feel Saturn’s upleveling.

While this Aries New Moon marks the beginning of spring and rebirth from the cold reclusive winter, there’s a marked sense of maturity, responsibility, and necessary healing that’s taking place. New Moons create new seeds, new visions, new passion, and new inspiration. Use the fire and fuel to bring your vision into sharp focus and find practical ways to ground it. There are limitless possibilities available to help you succeed!
