III. The Empress

The first seven cards in the Major Arcana depict one fundamental level of development; the earliest stages of self-awareness, our first relationships with others, and our initial attempts at self-mastery.

As the Fool journeys to meet the Empress, the third key in the Major Arcana, the creative potential contained in the depths of the feminine energy between the High Priestess and the Empress is revealed.  The Empress is everything in life that grows and flourishes, representing the Mother Goddess, the cycle of creation, and fertility. In essence, she embodies the transformative energy that imbues the mysterious process from seed to fruition.

The number three represents the Trinity (i.e., mind, body, and spirit), while in numerology, it symbolizes the movement of energy. In this instance, it speaks to the movement of energy from potential to actualization; first channeled from Source, and then nurtured into existence, or birth.

III The Empress

It feels good to feel and nurture those we love and ourselves. The more acknowledge love & nurturing in our lives, the more we realize it’s there.
