XIII. Death
The journey from Strength to Temperance, we develop our sense of self - and how we master our emotions when faced with external challenges.
Death is the thirteenth key in the major arcana. The Fool abandons all that she knew and clung to as she leaves the Hanged Man; it is now with Death that she is liberated from her old ways of being. The Fool is guided into the Underworld, empowered to cast away all but her essential dharma, the karmic work that comprises life's purpose. This is a time of spiritual and psychological rebirth where the spirit reconnects with the authentic self and the soul's purpose. The Fool then arises from the Underworld, transformed and awakened. This descent and re-emergence symbolize the mystical death of the ego — the ultimate result of a kundalini awakening.
I approach change fearlessly and with gained knowledge.
I am centered.
I am allowed to let go of the past.
I am willing to change.
XIII. Death
Navigating tough times of transition and the unknown are learning experiences and allow us to be challenged and rise up. Death is not the ending, it is nearly a time in ones’ life for transformation. Death allows for our energy to be diverted to other areas; for example - we can put to rest a business, relationship, living situation, and / or friendship to allow our energy and attention to shift and be focused in a new cycle. The previous energetic exchange and experience lays a foundation of experience, for a new cycle to take root and begin.
